As a small girl
she was forever trying to command
the attention of her taller friends
by talking tough
and walking fast

beating her hands against their
strong hard chests
to punctuate her points,
mounting on top of their reclined forms
like a jockey
to prove her power

And though she never grew
she somehow became
larger than life
