not from queens,
thats unoriginal
not from levittown,
thats passe,
maybe i'll try middle america soon,
i've got one...

but for the first time
the west coast calls my name
"Shane, shine in the sunshine"
and i can skate on the skate path
like they do in venice

i want to swim and bask in it all
the silly mundane things i enjoy hearing
listen to you talk about the other people
you touch and love
but i want stuff and more stuff
and i want to skip and skate
and rollerskate right into your bedroom.
