that pretty mess
you like to make
when you play and
do the things little boys do
needs some tending to--
you need to clean her up
before she turns into
a beautiful disaster
and she's beyond repair

and that pretty mess
just laying there on the floor
hates to watch you
with your new toys
and your old garbage
because she's falling apart
and collecting at your feet

it's that pretty mess
you always make
when you get what you want
then throw her away
it's okay
you can walk away
but someone needs to clean her up
and nobody likes to clean up
