Yes darling,
I understand that you feel
betrayed
and bewildered
but these feelings
have been planted
in hundreds of other gardens
well before you harvested them.

I just hope
that you understand
the bitter pithes of the fruits
you gather
are products of the
seeds you've sewn--
or that is to say
perhaps the fruits of your labors are bitter
because you spent so much time
documenting their growth
that you did not make sure they grew strong.

But you're a smart girl
and you tend your garden well,
so I don't really know
why you still believe
one bad apple
spoils the whole tree.
