So, i left that phrase up as an away message (if you don't follow for love...) and the responses showed me that true romanticism is dead, or my question was awkwardly phrased.

I guess what I have learned is that people follow because they don't want to be alone. Lots of people are mindless or hungry for things...but being followers is just engrained in us, i guess.
